Project Description

Lenni

* UPDATE – LENNI IS ON HOLD

Lenni, 7 months old, Huntaway/Collie. Fostered in Waimate.
Lenni has come such a long way from the shy reserved puppy she was upon arrival. Due to her previous circumstances (came from an accidental farm litter, we received 10 pups, approx 3 months old) she missed a lot of the key puppy socialization milestones which means building up her confidence has taken a lot longer then expected. She has blossomed into a really lovely young dog all-round. She is very food motivated and loves to finish all her breakfast and dinner. She has good recall and walks flawlessly on her lead. Lenni loves to play with other dogs and really looks up to her older foster sister for guidance. Lenni is also currently fostered with a cat and has not shown much interest in her. She was good with the children she has met so far, and the kids have absolutely adored her. Lenni is house and crate trained and loves to go into her crate to sleep at night. Lenni sometimes alerts you when guests arrive.

Lenni does get anxious when left at home alone without another dog or human and will tend to chew things to express this anxiety. She has currently been on a probiotic supplement which helps her stay calm and relieves some of her anxieties, so far this has been working really well.

Lenni is looking for a special home with another dog to guide her and play with her during the day. Also a family that is happy to continue working with her to make her the best super dog she can be.

Donation – $400 to go towards part of the cost of vaccinations, chip/rego, spay. We have an adoption process and do meetings once this has been successfully completed. We do home out of the district and can arrange property visits. We do not send the dogs away on transporters. Stock fenced properties require a fully secure/safe containment area for no one is at home.
If interested please email us about your home, environment and why you think Lenni would thrive in your care. Owner occupied home preferred.
