Project Description

Chilli

UPDATE: Chilli is on trial
Chilli (male), Collie – heading dog mix
Approx DOB 05/2023
Fostered on a lifestyle property, Oamaru
Video: video1
Gentle, very loving, wants to please…. needs kind, positive, patient handling/guidance to gain confidence and learn. A great young dog with loads of potential to be a super companion for a dedicated carer. Rural property.
Came to us from a farm, last of a litter to go. He was used to their young children and 6 other dogs on the farm.
From his foster carers. Chilli is very friendly with people and wants to have a “big buddy” person to show him what to do and how to be a good boy. He needs someone with a little bit of patience. He’s not an extreme case, but he does “shut down” when he doesn’t know what to do. He just drops to the ground and lies down. He loves cuddles and will use his paw to tap and ask to be patted. As far as toilet training, you’ll have to watch him at first and learn his signs. He knows that he needs to go outside, but he doesn’t know how to ask and he’s not used to holding it very long.
Adoption $200, goes part way towards his costs (hugely discounted, we do ongoing fundraising). Neutered, fully vaccinated, chipped (on NZCAR), registered, up to date worm/flea.
* Please read the information listed at the top of our dogs for adoption page which includes how to register your interest, thank you! *
