Buddy, approx 1 yr, Collie/Bull breed mix, 30kg (From Timaru Pound. Fostered Oamaru)

Previously had a rough handler, but over the last couple of weeks his true happy, playful puppy character has emerged. Still shy in new environments and on lead walks, we take our time as he quietly explores and sniffs. He gives people a wide berth, looking at them inquisitively – is praised for this.

Loves to play with squeaky toys. Needs lots of chewing activities – Kongs, chew bones, loves working for his food. Has been really respectful of my old dog Davey. Once he has had a quiet introduction with another social dog and feels comfortable, he will want to play. Good with a dog confident cat. He will happily pop up on the couch and plonk himself right close to you, he is a bit clumsy at times. Crate trained, this is where he sleeps at night.

Looking for a very special owner that can provide Buddy with an environment where he feels safe and secure, adult family, experienced with a passion to help a rescued dog gain confidence and live his best life. You will understand the need to take it slow, and have a clear understanding of dog body language, force free training and mental stimulation.

Adoption donation – $300 – to go towards part of the cost of vaccs, chip, rego, neuter. Flea/worm. We have an adoption process to match our dogs up to the home that best suits their needs. We do meetings once this has been successfully completed. We do home out of the district and can arrange property visits. We do not send the dogs away on transporters.
