Tui – Adopted

In April Tui had an awful accident and fell off a cliff. His pelvis was fractured in three places and the head of his femur was also fractured. He was surrendered and came into our care and had FHO surgery (Femoral Head Ostectomy) on 17 April.

He has recovered really well in foster care and is thriving. He is now ready to find his forever home:

Tui, 2.5 year old male Vizsla/Beardie cross.
Fostered Oamaru.

Tui is a really beautiful natured, fun loving, social boy. High energy. Very sweet and cuddly. He is great with other dogs. Has gotten used to and is good with our cats, he does chase them but only to catch up and give them a good sniff. He loves his toys. Loves the beach. Great with children.

His recall is ok until he gets into chase mode after spotting something of interest, will need further training and a stock free property (no aggression but not a good habit).

He sleeps inside on a memory foam mattress with blankets and wears a jacket in the cold when outside to keep his pelvis warm.

Best suited to an active family with the time to give him plenty of mental enrichment and lots of fun games. Ideally needs another social dog/s, he loves to play and enjoys their companionship.

$350 – Neutered, fully vaccinated, chipped – on NZCAR, registered.  Flea/worm.

Adoption process: application form, property visit, vet history check. We do meetings once the adoption process is successfully completed.

We do home out of the district and can arrange property visits. We do not send the dogs away on transporters. Stock fenced properties require a fully secure/safe containment area for no one is at home.  Residential 6ft fences/gates. Owner occupied home.

If interested, please email us about your home and why you think that Tui would thrive in your care.
