Project Description

SUE

Please read the following info carefully before getting in touch. Thank you

Sue, 2 to 2.5 years old Collie/Smithfield mix, medium, 21kg Fostered in Oamaru.

Sue wasn’t suited to being a pig dog, has already had about 3 homes. She is settling in really well and I am so pleased to see her looking much happier. She is learning about and enjoying the pet dog life and has quickly gained 3kg.

Sue is lovely to have around the house and only wants to please, can be needy until she settles in her spot. Lovely on the lead, good meeting new people, may jump up. Sleeps through the night in her crate (with lots of bedding). If I didn’t have other dogs here, she could quite happily sleep on the couch.

Needs gentle introductions to other dogs, she is now used to Buddy, he was too much for her at the start, but she firmly let him know to give her space. Also introduced her to a 6 month old female pup, they had a good play together. Wouldn’t expect her to be comfortable at a dog park or beach (with any ole dog running up to her).

Super fast and agile, good recall, not tested around cats as yet. A really nice dog, has had a fairly rough life and is seeking a kind dog savvy home to ensure she is set up for success. Respectful kids aged 12 years plus. Owner occupied home preferred.

Please email us about your home/environment, previous dog experience and why you think that Sue would thrive in your care. We have an adoption process to help us match our dogs up to the home that best suits their needs. We do home out of town, and have people that can assist with property visits. Meetings can be arranged upon the successful completion of the adoption process.

Some dogs receive multiple enquiries (we want to ensure we make the best possible match). We may miss getting back to some of you or be late in updating you. Please message us and ask for an update. We are a small team of volunteers and are doing our best.
