Project Description

ROY

PLEASE READ ALL THE INFORMATION BELOW CAREFULLY – THANKS

Roy, 14 months old (approx), Collie / Heading dog (Fostered in Oamaru)

Roy came into our care August 2021, he had suffered an accident on a farm and was surrendered to a vet clinic – both his back legs were broken.

Roy has recovered physically, but mentally he had been struggling. His foster carers have been very dedicated in working with a behaviourist, to help ease his anxieties and reactive behaviour.

We are looking for a home that can offer Roy a quiet, calm environment with plenty of space, adult family only. Must be experienced and understand dog behaviour. Someone that has a passion to take on a dog that has special needs and is keen to carry on the good work to help him thrive and be happy. Roy enjoys the company of other dogs, if his new home had a happy, social adult dog, this would be really good for Roy.

If interested, please email us about your home/environment, previous dog experience and why you think that Roy would thrive in your care. We have an adoption process to help us match our dogs up to the home that best suits their needs. We do home out of town, and have people that can assist with property visits. Meetings with Roy can be arranged upon the successful completion of the adoption process. He will need to meet his new people a few times before he leaves our care.

Roy is neutered, fully vaccinated, chipped, registered. Up to date with flea/worm treatments.
