Project Description

Pete

Pete, Huntaway/Beardie, DOB 27/5/2022 (approx)

Fostered in Rolleston.

Pete arrived a timid wee pup but with lots of love and patience is turning into a cheeky wee character. He just wakes up happy, and you can’t help but love him. He loves people and accepts pats and cuddles from anyone who’s offering them.

He is a thoughtful puppy who approaches new things with caution. He’ll sit quietly and take it all in before making his move. He initially was nervous of meeting new dogs, but keeps improving with positive interactions. He’ll need someone with kindness and patience so he can feel comfortable in new situations.

Great with my kids, I think he would be all good with children as long as they are respectful. He barks a lot when he’s happy. When him and Sam (our dog) are playing outside he’s very vocal, and he often happily chats to us. Has attended his first puppy class and took it all in quietly.

He will go all out in the morning, running around and playing with our dog for ages. Then it’s time for a big snooze on his bed in the sun. As he gets older he will need more mental stimulation.

Usually our daughter puts him to bed but last night I did it. I called him over to the crate and he looked in then turned around and walked away. I found him standing by the treats. Evidently a treat is required at bed time. I got a treat and he trotted into his crate! Pete is just a lovely, happy boy who would be a fun, affectionate, loyal family member.

Donation $350 (goes towards a small part of costs) includes 2 x parvo vacc, kennel cough, chip, council registration, and spay/neuter once they are older. Worm/flea treatments.
