Project Description

Pete

Pete, 12 years old, Collie (heading dog)

Fostered Oamaru

Pete is a retired working dog. He has adapted to the pet life very well. He is happy in his foster home, but I would love to see him receive more one on one attention – there are a few dogs coming and going here.
Good in the car, although barks at first. Can get spooked and stop in his tracks if he sees a man when out on walks, also loud noises. He is a gentle soul, good around other friendly dogs.
Loves his daily walks, especially in the rural areas, loves sniffing, will sometimes do zoomies at home, but is mostly a cruiser. Pete loves sleeping inside on his cosy bed, loves being patted, made to feel special and being brushed.

Ideally a quiet home with a gentle handler, would love to see him lifestyle based, but he goes wandering at first (will squeeze under fencing) – needs time to settle in and good fencing. Is on medication for arthritis, has good quality food and supplements.

Arrived in our care sore, burst ear drum, grass seed in the other ear, rotten/ broken tooth. He is so much happier and comfortable now.

Pete is neutered, fully vaccinated, chipped, registered, had bloods done. Finding him the best possible home is the main priority. A donation towards his care is appreciated.
