Project Description

Ned

UPDATE: Ned is on trial

2 year old Beardie mix
Ned came to Pound Paws from a farm a couple of months ago.
He didn’t have much time spent on him with training, stimulation or exposure to new things. He was full on.
Recently he spent time at Harry’s Happy Hounds.
This is what Harry had to say:
Ned is a wonderful dog with so much potential. He is very smart, energetic and quick to learn. Whilst he is motivated to a degree with food, the key to Ned is praise. He will do anything if you reward him with a big fuss. He needs a rural/lifestyle home where he will get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation with an active family. Needs a minimum of 2 good runs a day with plenty of time to stop and sniff all those scents. Suit a home with another dog/s. He would be great at agility, even if it was just at home, he needs a job.
He hasn’t got a bad bone in his body. Needs an experienced home with someone who understands how to continue with his training. He did not have an off switch even if he was exhausted. During his stay with me I brought him indoors every night and he learnt how to be calm. At first he wouldn’t settle but as the days passed he started to learn, in the end he was a delight to have in the home.
Great around cattle and horses. Excellent on lead, great recall. Took him to the beach, river & also horse trekking. I had him on a long line to begin with but then he was off lead and just happily walked along side the horse with my dogs.
