Project Description

Maise

1 year old Huntaway,

fostered at Twizel

Was not suited to being a working dog.

When Maise first arrived at our house she was an absolute ball of nerves, she clearly had a pretty traumatic life up to that point. The first few weeks were spent gaining her trust and letting her know she was safe and could be herself. With the help of Maddie (our 7 year old huntaway) and the 4 foster pups she has turned in to a completely different and carefree dog.

She has a really beautiful nature and just loves to be around her humans. She absolutely loves to play with other dogs and is learning social cues and boundaries and is genuinely loving being able to be a pup for the first time. She is so bouncy and playful and just loves life, she’s an absolute joy to watch when she’s playing, she has genuinely brought so much happiness to our household. She can still get scared around loud noises or when something surprises her although she is getting better and more confident day by day so I would recommend a family with older children or a child free household.

She’s good around cats but is known to chase bunnies. She’s learning her recall really well and is learning so much from Maddie.

She LOVES to hug up on the sofa and will take herself off to bed when she’s tired. She is an absolute joy and will make an unbelievable dog to the right owners.
