Project Description

Beau

Beau is a beautiful 2 year old male Whippet cross.

He was hit by a car before Christmas and the Vet reached out to see if we could help him and save his leg – thanks to a wonderful response from the public – the money for his surgery ($3,000) was raised in a few hours.

From his foster home in Wanaka:

He is on the mend! His recovery is going well, and he is walking with confidence now with a slight limp. He will still need a few weeks of cage rest before he is allowed to run around freely.

Beau is a lovely and loyal young companion. He is food motivated, which will make for easy training. He is incredibly cuddly and could just lie next to his human all day. He is excellent with other dogs and cats and loves all people including children. He will make an excellent family dog.

Beau will need someone who can spend a lot of time with him throughout the day as he loves to be included in everything in the household. He would love another dog to be his best friend (but this is not a necessity). Beau used to be a pro rabbit catcher and loves to chase, so a secure 6ft fully fenced/gated yard is a must. He also needs someone who will be gentle and patient with his fracture healing.

Donation – $300 to go towards neuter, vaccinations, micro-chip.
