Waffles, 10 months old, Huntaway/Beardie mix, tall and leggy (Fostered in Temuka)

SEEKING AN EXPERIENCED, DOG SAVVY HOME EITHER FOSTER CARE OR FOREVER HOME

His current foster carers have had to go back to working away from home and Waffles needs someone around at least part of the day. Ideally a home that will work in with a behaviorist to help him relax when out and about. We would look at contributing towards this cost.

Waffles arrived in our care at 3 months old, he was from an accidental litter of pups from a farm. He has been in a wonderful foster home since. He is looking for people that are happy to work with him, and that are not expecting the perfect dog. He is nervous when out and about when seeing new people and is reactive. He is used to people coming to his foster home and quickly warms up to them. Seeking an adult family, dog savvy teenagers aged 15 years plus would be ok. Needs a quiet environment – he gets spooked by town noises.

At home Waffles is a happy, high energy, goofy chap, loves playing with balls/toys and is loving having other dogs to play with. He adores human interaction and will make someone a great buddy! He is housetrained, sleeps through the night in his crate and is highly food motivated. Not a big barker, barks occasionally, mostly when playing. He and the cat give each other a wide berth. He has met chickens and walks away from them when told to leave, however I would not recommend leaving him unsupervised. Will require a fully secure containment area for when no one is home.

Waffles is neutered, fully vaccinated, chipped, registered. Up to date with flea/worm treatments.
