Mac
Huntaway

* UPDATE – Adopted *
Rural/Semi Rural Home Needed
This gorgeous boy with a heart of gold has been through so much in his young life. At 9 months old, he was run over in a farm accident and suffered a badly broken hip. Surgery was urgently needed, but even with the best treatment, Mac would never be able to work again.
Fortunately he was surrendered to Pound Paws & with the help of our amazing supporters, the funds were raised and Mac had his Femoral Head Ostectomy surgery. Mac has now recovered amazingly well.
A loving, affectionate, playful boy, has lovely manners and loves meeting new people and dogs! He is fantastic with cats (fostered with 3), very respectful with chickens and used to pet pigs.
Mac has regained full use of his leg but will need a home that can manage his exercise to ensure that he doesn’t over do it. Lots of mental enrichment, sniff walks and monitoring his play with other dogs. 2 leash walks a day would be ideal, with adventures in the car/truck to a beach or park a couple times a week. He is a big, strong boy though and will need a fairly fit and active owner, nonetheless.
Would be suited to older children as he is still a boisterous puppy. He is a Huntaway and will join in barking with others, having just discovered his voice!
Mac comes with a lifetime discounted pass to Little River Dogstay, where his foster family will be only too happy to care for him whenever his owner goes on holiday!
House and crate trained, sleeps inside.
$350 – includes vaccinations, neuter (when older, pre-booked/followed up on), micro-chip registered on NZCAR, flea/worm.
We do home out of the district (within South Island) and can arrange property visits. We do not send the dogs away on transporters.
Please tell us all about your home and why you think that Mac would thrive in your care.
