Prior to coming into our care, Lou would escape her previous rural stock fenced properties. Her last owners were unable to cope and reached out to us for help.
Lou is very happy and is thriving in foster care with having all of her needs met – daily adventures, new places to sniff and explore, companionship, training, another resident dog – adult male who she gets on great with. 6ft fencing. We are seeking a dedicated carer that is able to fulfil her needs both physically and mentally. She is still a puppy and learning, requires a kind, patient force free handler. She is confident, outgoing and toy motivated.
From her foster carers: Lou is the sweetest, most loving and affectionate girl! She came to us with very little training and in 4 short weeks she has mastered her basic skills while showing huge amounts of intelligence and keenness to learn and train.
She will need an active home with owners that are knowledgeable of her breed. She wants to hunt and when she puts her nose down she’s on a mission. Once she’s been exercised she can switch off and relax, loves being inside as part of the family. She gets along great with other dogs, she just wants to play.
Lou does have a bit of separation anxiety however with time and trust she is relaxed being left in her crate for a couple hours at a time (after she’s been exercised). Ideally a home with some daytime company. She does enjoy our dog’s company so she would do well in a home with another dog. Lou hasn’t mastered her recall, but in the short time we have had her she’s come along in leaps and bounds with her recall. House-trained and sleeps inside.
