UPDATE –
Thank you so much for your interest in adopting Dougal. We have been overwhelmed with enquiries from all over NZ and truly appreciate everyone who reached out to offer him a home.
We wanted to provide an update to let you know that we are currently pursuing a potential home for him. We are still working through this process, but if anything changes, we will be back in touch.
Thanks again for your time and for caring about Dougal.

Please read all of the information below before getting in touch.

Dougal is a cheerful, affectionate little pup with a huge zest for everything life has to offer. Don’t be fooled by his small stature and young age – he is ready to go from the moment he wakes up, bringing a laugh a minute but equally loves a cuddle or to sit by your feet after a long day of running ruckus.

He is cautious but curious when introduced to new things (people/animals/environments) but given a few minutes to process – it doesn’t take him long to warm up and gain confidence.

Dougal is extremely food and play motivated but also strong-willed – he will make you work in a training session just as much as he has too 😂

Better suited to older children that can help teach and keep set boundaries.  He could live with a confident cat, again as long as it’s happy to set boundaries!  He is currently still learning the ropes of house training but sleeps brilliantly in his crate, only needing out once in the night.

We understand that Dougal will be very popular, but as usual, we will work hard to make the best possible match for him, and his new family.  It was under sad circumstances that Dougal came into our care.  The lovely lady has entrusted us to find him a safe, caring, knowledgeable forever home that can meet all of his needs.

Adoption process:
Application form
Property visit
Vet history check.

We do meetings once the adoption process is successfully completed.

$500 – this includes his vaccinations, micro-chip registered on NZCAR, council registration, flea/worm up to date and of course his neuter when he is older – this is pre-booked and followed up on.

We do home out of the district (within South Island) and can arrange property visits. Please message us all about your home and why you think that Dougal would thrive in your care.

Save Lives. Stop the Breeding. Spay/Neuter.

Could you give me a home?

We have a constant stream of furry friends waiting for a new forever home. Can you provide a warm and welcoming space for them to thrive?
