Beautiful sweet natured Blue came into our care weighing 15.9kg. Vets put her body condition score at a 1 out of 9. With Blue’s long coat, it wasn’t obvious just how skinny she was until she had a warm bath.

She ate Royal Canin 4800 and gained about 500 grams per day until reaching a healthier weight of 25.3kg. Vets think she will gain a little bit more muscle mass and probably settle around 26kg.

In foster care, Blue has shown herself to be curious, intelligent, loving and playful. Now that she is a healthier weight, she is more interested in play. She often engages the two older dogs in games of chase, and when they have had enough, she will happily entertain herself by tossing her fluffy duck toy. She has quickly learned fetch and loves rough-and-tumble play with dogs and humans. She has been around cats, kids and chickens with no issues.

Blue has good recall and manners on lead. Blue loves her quality time everyday, whether it’s walking, wrestling, cuddling or playing fetch, she will reward you with smooches and smiles. Enjoys car rides. Housetrained, sleeps inside. Has an old leg injury, awaiting vet notes to be transferred.
