Bess, Beardie/Huntaway, approx 10-12 months old. 21kg.

Seeking a rural home with a friendly, confident dog already in residence. Bess sleeps inside.

Our foster carers picked this girl up from a farm, she crawled a couple of steps and froze, she was terrified. We are grateful to the people that saved her from being shot, she is a failed working dog, and was very afraid of men. She now has a name, clean living conditions, quality food (gaining weight), kind handling and a bright future. It’s such a delight to see the huge change in Bess already!

Foster carers say: Bess is simply adorable. She is already starting to shine and has gained confidence in meeting new people (no longer cowering). She loves being inside and her house training is going well. Bess is great with dogs and cats, has gained confidence around the other farm animals. Bess has great recall, although not good with chickens – she thinks they are fun to chase (training/supervision required). Bess has a really lovely nature and just wants to please. Only barks when excited.

Adoption – $250 – includes neuter, parvo/kennel cough vaccinations, micro-chip, registration, flea/worm.

The more information you can provide – the better! South Island adoption only, and you would need to be happy to travel to meet her and us (upon successful completion of adoption process).

We have an adoption process to match our dogs up to the home that best suits their needs. A property visit will be carried out to ensure safe containment. 2 week trial period
