Flick

Update: Flick is ON TRIAL!

Seeking expressions of interest to adopt
Flick, 11 month old Huntaway, 25kg
Fostered on a lifestyle block – Oamaru

Extra special forever home needed.
This beautiful girl came to us from Wanaka after a vet contacted us to see if we could help her. She had been run over on a farm (4 days earlier) and x-rays showed she suffered a broken pelvis. Initially it was thought that she would need surgery, but a second opinion was sought, and due to her having the accident a week earlier, it was best to cancel the surgery and allow her to crate rest.

Update – We are really happy with her recovery. Recent X-rays looked good, still needs a couple more weeks of rest and once fully healed she will be able to live a happy pet life. Flick will most likely have arthritis later in life, and this will need to be managed to ensure she is comfortable as possible.

Foster Mum says: Flick is a very gentle soul. She loves people and all other animals (chickens, dogs, horses, cats). Her favourite things are her kong, her pyjama’s and her comfy bed. She is very cuddly and just wants to please. She is happy frolicking around in the garden with you or curled up on the couch. She is doing beautifully and is now house trained.

If interested, please email / message us about your home/environment, previous dog experience and why you think that Flick would thrive in your care. We have an adoption process to help us match our dogs up to the home that best suits their needs. We do home out of town, and have people that can assist with property visits. Meetings can be arranged upon the successful completion of the adoption process.

$400 adoption donation. Flick is neutered, fully vaccinated, chipped, will need new registration tag from June 31st. Up to date with flea/worm treatments. Flick is on quality puppy food and joint supplements, she needs a family that are 100% on board with ensuring she is kept comfortable and receives the best of care.
